Each collection is a tribute to the family’s rich legacy, blending classic artistry with contemporary sophistication. Each piece in our collections tells a story—a story of feminine creativity and inspiration, where attention to every little detail is at the heart of everything we do.
In the Fall 2024 collection ‘Belong to the Sun’, a meeting of perspectives unfolds. During the long and challenging days of December, I sought solace for both collective and personal heartbreak. In this search for hope and answers to countless questions, I found myself repeatedly returning to family photo albums. Through them, I discovered my grandfather’s perspective, reflected through the lens of his camera. What emerged was a beautiful blend of values and dreams, and above all, his boundless love for the textures in his new home — its people and landscapes, from the sea to the desert and the ever-changing stillness of the city.
It’s hard not to feel a pang of emotion for the innocence and hope that this gaze reflects in today’s reality. Yet through my grandfather’s photographs, I strive to see the tenderness, the eyes of a dreamer and a new immigrant, gazing in wonder at the community and sense of belonging.
The color palette echoes local hues — shades of brown like tree trunks and rust, reds and oranges reminiscent of a sunset reflected on the sea, a soft blush pink for twilight moments, sand like desert earth, coal black, and the floating autumn moon, quietly waiting.
The fabrics and textures come to life through the clean, simple lines of the collection — crisp cotton alongside flowing knits, voluminous parachute fabric against delicate lace. The pieces are complemented by crocheted shell jewelry with red threads for good luck, and soft bags adorned with gold chains and wooden beads.
The collection offers a modern interpretation of traditional local craftsmanship and the external landscape as seen through my grandfather’s loving, inward gaze. It is a kind of love letter to local artistry, to the people behind it, and the way they are intertwined. Through delving into and cherishing his dreams and photographs, I hope, as a designer, to offer moments of grace and comfort, however small, through a collection whose garments and accessories are inspired by this place, gently embracing the wearer in a soft embrace.
